To participate in the 2021 Virtual Oyster Classic 5K, complete these two steps. If you are only sponsoring the event or a particular runner, just complete Step 1:

Sometime between June 4 and June 13, run a 5K while tracking your progress on Strava.
We will watch for everyone’s results in Strava, and let you know how you did!
All proceeds directly benefit the Urban Assembly New York Harbor School (UA-NYHS) and its programs, working to restore the waters of New York Harbor, while training the next generation of pilots, divers, engineers, marine technicians, climate change specialists and marine biologists.

RACE DAY INFO
Governors Island is accessible by boat only.
The ferry will depart the Governors Island Ferry Terminal/Battery Maritime Building, 10 South Street, NY, NY (adjacent to the Staten Island Ferry Terminal) at 8 a.m. sharp. Runners MUST be on this ferry.
Runners will need their Oyster Classic bib to board, and all spectators will need their NYHOC '20 bracelets. The race will start at 9 a.m.
On the island, just off the ferry, you'll find directions to the NY Harbor School, and the start/finish line. Bag check* and toilets will be available in the same area.
Water tables with cups will be available at the start and the finish areas. Bring a water bottle with you to fill up at the island's water filing stations along the course. We’ll meet you and your spectators at the finish line with bagels and fresh fruit.
The New York Oyster Classic 5K is rain or shine and we are unable to offer registration refunds.

DIRECTIONS TO THE FERRY
The ferry operates between the Battery Maritime Building (BMB) in Lower Manhattan and Soissons Dock on Governors Island. The trip is approximately 8 minutes in duration.
The BMB is accessible by:
Subway: 1 Train to South Ferry, the R train to Whitehall/South Ferry, or the 4 or 5 train to Bowling Green.
Bus: Service to Lower Manhattan includes: M5, M20, M15, BM1, BM2, BM3, BM4.
